A Year of Growth
2023 has been a significant year for MacKenzie Life Care Planning. Recognizing the increasing need for skilled life care planners and vocational consultants, our firm proudly welcomed three new experts to the team. This growth not only signifies our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our clients, but also strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive and personalized life care plans, thorough vocational assessments, and simple cost estimates.
Meet Our New Experts
Kerri Martin, MSN, RN, FNP-C, CLCP
Kerri Martin is a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) who stands out in the field with her unique blend of clinical expertise. With a rich background as a family nurse practitioner, she brings over 9 years of hands-on experience in primary care and surgery. Her journey in the medical field began with a strong foundation in nursing, having served as a registered nurse in various clinical areas, including infectious disease, critical care, and surgery.
Kerri's extensive nursing background equips her with the skills necessary to meticulously assess and comprehend a patient's medical history and current condition due to catastrophic injury or chronic illness. This thorough understanding enables her to effectively communicate with treating physicians and other healthcare providers. By collaborating with these healthcare professionals, Kerri is able to create holistic life care plans for individuals. Her ability to bridge the gap between detailed medical analysis and practical care planning is a cornerstone of her approach, ensuring that each patient receives a personalized and forward-thinking strategy for their ongoing health needs.
Kristy Easley, MA, CCC-SLP, CBIS, CLCP
Kristy Easley’s established background in medical-speech language pathology makes her an outstanding Certified Life Care Planner. She has dedicated over twenty years to patient rehabilitation, focusing notably on acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Her passion for supporting those affected by traumatic brain injuries (TBI) began while earning her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2001. This commitment to helping TBI patients was further solidified in 2013 when she earned her certification as a brain injury specialist.
Kristy's career has been marked by a diverse range of roles that showcase her versatility and commitment to rehabilitation. She has served as a treating clinician in various settings, including inpatient residential and outpatient brain injury rehabilitation, skilled nursing rehabilitation, and even in pediatric home health and outpatient environments. This extensive experience not only underscores her adaptability, but also her ability to provide specialized care across different patient demographics and conditions.
John Maier, MA, CRC, CCM
John Maier brings a wealth of knowledge to the field of rehabilitation, boasting over 26 years experience as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Certified Case Manager. His expertise covers key areas such as vocational testing, transferable skills analysis, job assessment, and labor market research. John excels in rehabilitation planning and identifying reasonable accommodations in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act. His commitment to creating employment opportunities is evident in his successful collaborations with employers, behavioral health agencies, and other community organizations across Arizona and North Carolina.
Since July 2020, John has significantly contributed to the legal realm, serving as a contracted vocational expert witness in over 400 hearings nationwide for the Social Security Administration. His insights have been crucial in determining both pre-injury and post-injury earning capacities of individuals in state and federal courts. He is currently working towards obtaining his Certified Life Care Planning credential, a testament to his commitment to continuous professional growth and contribution to the field of rehabilitation.
The addition of these four seasoned experts enhances the breadth and depth of knowledge that MacKenzie Life Care Planning helps bring to attorneys and their clients across Texas and the entire United States.
A Continued Commitment to Quality
Comprehensive and Personalized Life Care Plans
At MacKenzie Life Care Planning, our unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive and personalized care plans remains at the forefront of everything we do.
Our Certified Life Care Planning experts understand that each client’s journey is unique, necessitating an individualized approach that accommodates their specific healthcare needs. This commitment to individualization is evident in our collaborative approach, where we work closely with treating physicians and therapists, when possible, to ensure that our life care plans are cohesive, clear, and seamlessly integrated with the client's ongoing treatment.
Additionally, our focus is always to create life care plans that not only addresses immediate healthcare and rehabilitative needs, but also anticipate future challenges, providing a roadmap for long-term care and support.
Seasoned Vocational Expertise
In addition to building life care plans, we recognize the profound impact that injuries can have on an individual's vocational abilities and earning potential. Vocational support is a critical component in improving the quality of life for those who have been injured. To address this need, our experienced vocational experts bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
Our vocational consultants are skilled in:
Determining pre-injury and post-injury earning capacity
Analyzing the effects of injury on work capabilities
Exploring transferable skills
Researching the labor market
Guiding and supporting those re-entering the workforce
Vocational assessments are an integral part of our comprehensive service offering, ensuring that every aspect of an injured or ill individual’s needs is thoroughly addressed.
Cost-efficient Cost Estimates
Our team of qualified life care planners is ready to assist you in preparing for mediation or a hearing with a straightforward and efficient approach. We provide detailed cost estimates that adhere to the same rigorous standards and methodologies as a full life care plan, but with a more cost-effective framework.
Unlike a comprehensive life care plan, a cost estimate usually doesn't require direct contact with the injured person or their treating provider. This approach is particularly beneficial when addressing specific, singular needs, such as the costs associated with a surgery or other medical procedure. This streamlined process ensures that you receive the essential information you need, both accurately and efficiently.
Looking Ahead to 2024
The year 2023 has been a remarkable period of growth and gratitude for us at MacKenzie Life Care Planning. This past year has laid a solid foundation for expanding our team of experts and refining our expertise. As we stand at the threshold of 2024, we are excited for the future! Looking ahead, we are fully dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients and attorneys across the United States.
Our commitment to excellence in life care planning, vocational consultation, and cost estimates, remains steadfast, and we eagerly anticipate the connections and opportunities that the new year will bring. With a focus on quality, integrity, and collaboration, we are ready to embrace 2024 with the same passion and dedication that have been the hallmark of our success.
